About the project: this research delves into the evolving landscape of legal mechanisms aimed at protecting digital human rights, offering a comparative analysis of the peculiarities of legal regulation and its practical implementation across selected jurisdictions. The primary objective of this research is to establish a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the advancement of a comprehensive scientific concept surrounding digital human rights, which encompasses both the definition of the term “digital human rights” and their categorization. The study aims to explore the national legal frameworks designed to protect digital human rights within specific jurisdictions, conducting a rigorous comparative examination of these mechanisms. It also seeks to share best practices and provide recommendations for a universally applicable legal algorithm that empowers individuals to exercise their respective subjective digital rights and ensures their effective protection. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on digital human rights by fostering a deeper understanding of the legal frameworks that underpin them and by promoting cross-jurisdictional cooperation to enhance their protection.
The project aims to explore national legal mechanisms for the protection of digital human rights in selected jurisdictions, to carry out a comparative analysis of these mechanisms with a view to disseminating positive experiences and to provide recommendations on a common legal algorithm for the implementation and effective protection of a person’s relevant subjective digital right.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Research Council under the postdoctoral fellowship programme.
