- Ukrainians applying for degree studies at MRU will pay a reduced application fee of €50 instead of €100.
- The 10 best applicants from Ukraine admitted to Bachelor’s Degree programs in the academic year 2024-2025 (except for the “Game Development and Digital Animation” and “Digital Media Design” study programs) will be exempt from the requirement to pay tuition fees. The results will be published by July 29th.
- If students do not qualify among the 10 students mentioned in point 2, they will be offered a 40% tuition fee discount. If a student is studying in a joint program with other universities, the 40% discount is applied only for the part of the studies conducted at Mykolas Romeris University.
These discounts will be applied to students who have no academic debts and have confirmed their place of residence in the Republic of Lithuania. Their study results will be reviewed each semester.
Note: Applicants from Ukraine who have completed secondary education in Lithuania and received a Lithuanian high school diploma can be eligible for a state-funded place. They must submit their application through the Lithuanian centralized admission system, LAMA BPO.
More information on the admission requirements through the centralized admission system can be found here.

Procedure:
You may become a mobility student for one semester or two with a free mover (visiting student) status:
- Mobility studies with a free mover (visiting student) status will be possible from the Autumn semester only.
- We encourage to, first of all, try to apply for a short-term studies scholarship (which is financial support from the government of Lithuania). The scholarship is named “Short term (1-2 semesters) studies“. In this case, you will have to complete two applications: – one for a short-term scholarship (until 29 April) and – one for MRU (until 31 May) – link to the application form will be provided later, because we are changing the application management platform and it will be active only from May 1 till May 31.
- You will be choosing the subjects (course units) from the list of courses available for incoming exchange students (up to 30 ECTS per semester). The list is published here.
- After arrival in Lithuania, you have to register as a Ukrainian fleeing the war as soon as possible.
- You retain a student‘s status at your home university.
- A free mover (visiting student) is not eligible for a degree from MRU.
- After completion of your mobility studies, you will receive a transcript of records and you will be able to ask for the recognition of the credits obtained at MRU at your home university.
Financial support:
- If a student is confirmed for a short-term state scholarship of 420 EUR, another financial support is not considered.
- If a student is not confirmed for a short-term state scholarship, MRU grants a tuition waiver.
- MRU has established a special fund to support MRU Ukrainian degree-seeking students. Only the students who are physically present and registered as Ukrainians fleeing the war are eligible for financial support. All the students that need financial support after arrival are advised to apply for it when they arrive at MRU.
- Until the financial support by the Lithuanian government is granted to you (f.e. for compensation of accommodation rent, which is available for registered Ukrainians fleeing the war), the University will not request to cover the accommodation fee on your arrival. Automatically, the accommodation fee for the Ukrainian MRU degree or mobility student will be covered by the special fund supporting Ukrainian students. Accommodation on campus is provided to all MRU students (cost depends on the chosen type of room – from 85 Eur/month to 200 Eur/month).
