March 10th, 2015, Ukraine's Ambassador Valery Zhovtenko thanked Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) for cooperation and lauded the University for fostering ties.
Ambassador Zhovtenko was one of a number of dignitaries that attended Lithuania's Restoration of Independence Day events held on campus.
MRU cooperates closely with universities in Ukraine.
One example is the Economics and Finance Management Faculty's, together with the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine, double degree Master's programme that is carried out in Financial Markets.
Bilateral cooperation agreements have been signed with the following universities: Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, KROK University, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine, and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Since 2011, Mykolas Romeris University is coordinating and implementing a project of the Erasmus Mundus partnership programme EMP-AIM Erasmus Mundus partnership for Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova.
According to this project, 4 MRU students received Erasmus Mundus student loans to study at universities in Ukraine. There were18 students and professors that went to MRU from the following universities of Ukraine: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Zaporizhzhya State Technical University, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Students from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and one student from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv have participated in the International Human Rights Summer School organized by the Faculty of Law.
In addition, Mykolas Romeris University's Faculty of Law cooperates with the Charkov Law School.
The Faculty of Law, together with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, carries out a joint Master’s degree programme Legal Regulation of Public Administration and Human Rights (since 2013-2014).
