The Senate of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) has unanimously declared the 2024-2025 academic year as the Year of the University. This decision aims to commemorate significant dates in the university's history and emphasize the institution's unique mission for individuals, society, and the state. MRU, the first university established in Lithuania after the restoration of independence, will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year.

Key Moments in the University's History – the establishment of the university on April 28, 1990, the approval of the first Statute on July 13, 1990, and the naming after Mykolas Romeris on October 28, 2004. Over more than three decades, MRU has grown into one of Lithuania's leading higher education institutions, with activities based on the principles of human rights, the rule of law, democracy, and the well-being of society.
