June 1st-3rd, Supreme Court of Lithuania Judge and MRU Law School Assoc. Prof. Dalia Vasarienė was elected President of the European Network of Councils for Judiciary (ENCJ) during a General Assembly meeting in Athens.

She will begin her duties Dec. 1st replacing current President Filippo Donati from Italy. This is the first time that a member of Lithuania‘s judiciary has been elected to head the European Network of Councils for Judiciary since the establishment of ENCJ.

The President chairs ENCJ meetings, represents the ENCJ in EU institutions and is invited to speak, lecture at various international meetings and events.
