Oct. 17-18th, 2017, the international conference, "Refugee Integration Through Youth Participation: 1951 Convention and Today's Refugees" was held at Mykolas Romeris University.
On opening day, Oct. 17th, Lithuania's Social Security and Labour Minister Linas Kukuraitis delivered the welcome address.
Among those presenting papers were London South Bank University Prof. of Education for Sustainablility Ros Wade. She discussed "Refugee Integration Challenges and the Importance of Education."
The conference was dedicated to those working with refugee integration in municipalities, youth organizations and civil servants as well as others interested in issues related to refugees.
This event is a joint 6-country partner result in line with the "Promise"project, which is implemented by Mykolas Romeris University. Other project participants are Lithuania's Youth Organizations'Council (Lijot); Lithuania's Association of Municipalities; and partners from Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Croatia and the U.K.
The conference was supported by funding from the European Commission.
The Conference language was English with translation into Lithuanian.
