July 8th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Assoc. Prof. Algirdas Monkevičius signed a cooperation agreement with Israel's Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Rector Prof. Zvi HaCohen.
The agreement paves the way for student and academic exchanges and joint projects in social sciences, humanities, business and management areas.
Academics are already begun cooperating in some areas.
MRU Institute of Educational Sciences and Social Work Prof. dr. Sarmitė Mikulionienė and Ben-Gurion University Prof. dr. Esther Lecovich are considering the possibilities for establishing a joint studies programme in the area of gerontology.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is one of Israel’s leading research universities with a student body numbering about 20,000 students and 4,000 Faculty members.
The University has three main campuses: the Marcus Family Campus in Beer-Sheva; the research campus at Sede Boqer and the Eilat Campus.
