Prof. Pereira Candidate for EGU’s Biogeoscience Div President’s Post
Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Prof. Paulo Pereira, Head of the Environmental Management Lab, has been nominated candidate for the Biogeoscience Division President's post of the European Geoscience Union (EGU). The 37-year-old research scientist, lectures on "Soil Management" and "Climate Change in Urban Areas." He is a member of the MRU Institute of Public Administration. He joined the teaching staff at MRU after completing his PhD dissertation on Impact of Forest Fires on Soil at the University of Barcelona in 2009. His areas of research include territorial planning, eco-system services, soil erosion, and impact of forest fires on soil. Prof. Pereira is a polyglot speaking 6 languages and teaches in English and Lithuanian at MRU. He often travels abroad to present research papers at conferences and to participate in PhD dissertation evaluations in Spain, Portugal and elsewhere in Europe.
