Prof. Jasinavičius: Forget the Stories About a Free Education
September 14th, 2016, the daily "Vakaro Žinios" published an interview with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Economics Institute Prof. Rimvydas Jasinavičius. In the article Jasinavičius discusses education, tuition and at what price comes a higher education diploma. "Forget the stories about a free education," Prof. Jasinavičius says in the almost full-page interview. He also said it would be better if the state, and not banks, would give students a percentage-free loan to finance studies. Under his plan, university graduates would remain in Lithuania and work and during their working career pay taxes. "That would be a real investment return for the government, financing a quality education," he told the "Vakaro Žinios daily.
