The year 2024 was exceptional for the Faculty of Public Governance and Business (FPGB) at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), marked by change, growth, and significant achievements. Reflecting on the past year's results, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Danguolė Jankauskienė emphasized that 2024 was a year of focus, during which the faculty diligently pursued new goals and strengthened cooperation.

Mid-year brought notable changes in the faculty's administration. Prof. Dr. Danguolė Jankauskienė assumed the role of dean, while Prof. Dr. Asta Vasiliauskaitė took the lead of the Institute of Business and Economics. Focus was required to implement the new MRU strategy and foster a modern faculty organizational culture oriented toward collaboration. Key to this effort was ensuring effective top-down and bottom-up communication flows. Every Thursday was dedicated to collective work, planning joint activities, exchanging information, and solving problems.

During the Strategic Planning Session held at the end of August, the main directions for the faculty's activities were outlined, focusing on optimizing studies, development plans, advancing research toward high-level outputs, and enhancing services for society.

In 2024, the faculty developed six new study programs. If accredited by the SKVC, FPGB will offer a bachelor's program in Health Services and Institution Management and a one-year master's program in Educational Leadership (MPA). Additionally, in collaboration with MRU's Sudovian Academy, four new bachelor’s programs were prepared in Marijampolė: Business Management, Transport Logistics, Accounting and Finance, and Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity. Moreover, accreditation applications were submitted for study programs in computer science and political science disciplines.

The dean expressed pride in not only stabilizing but also increasing student enrollment. "It is exciting that last year, bachelor's admissions grew by 47%, and master's admissions increased by 4%," said Prof. Dr. Danguolė Jankauskienė.

The year 2024 was also significant for the faculty's scientific achievements. The dean thanked all 98 FPGB lecturers and researchers, particularly Professors Dr. Paulo Pereira, who ranked among the top 0.05% of scientists worldwide, Dr. Miguel Angelo Raposo Inacio, and Dr. Agota Giedrė Raišienė. "Their contributions to strengthening the faculty's scientific accomplishments are invaluable," she emphasized.

The faculty also celebrated the successful expansion of collaborations with European universities. Among the most notable projects were the joint master's program Leisure and Sports Management and Administration, developed with five European universities, and the program Education and Science Policy and Management, funded by "NextGenerationEU" resources. A highlight of the faculty’s portfolio is the MBA in Business Administration, which ensures high quality and attracts motivated students.

Dean Prof. Dr. Danguolė Jankauskienė thanked the entire faculty community for their focus and collective efforts in creating a modern and ambitious faculty. "We are building this university together. Let this shared focus guide us into 2025," the dean wished.

MRU Rector Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė also congratulated the faculty on an excellent report and praised Dean Prof. Dr. D. Jankauskienė for uniting the community during a challenging period. "We have global stars and newcomers in the faculty. We must move forward with this potential alongside MRU," the rector wished.
