Turkish student Nusun Gizem Balikci from Cyprus, a former Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Erasmus+ student (2017), cried when she had to leave Vilnius and her MRU Erasmus friends. It was hard to say good-bye to friends from Spain, Italy, Belgium and Albania, when she left last year.

Lithuania is a beautiful country and it's cheap and it was my 1st choice for Erasmus studies (Portugal and Prague were 2nd, 3rd), said the Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Public Administration graduate.

Nusun has tasted some Lithuanian dishes and loved kibinai in Trakai. She said that Lithuania is not an expensive country for students to live and even travel.

Now she is undertaking an Erasmus traineeship at MRU and hopes to commence International Law studies in the coming year.

I am helping out in the International Office and "keeping in communication with international students," said the talkative Turkish student.

"Studying in Lithuania was different from my University because the education system was so different. We had a more theoretical education and here we have more essays and are more active," she said remembering her time as an Erasmus+ student.

Since I had the chance, "I didn't want to miss that opportunity to study abroad in Vilnius," she said.

She recommends that all students try to spend an Erasmus+ semester abroad, especially at MRU Vilnius.

"I have to leave and go back to Turkey in December. I am not looking forward to leaving Vilnius," she said.
