May 19th, 2023, Mykolas Romeris University's (MRU) "Bolero" dance group and the MRU Folk Dancing Group "Skalsa" celebrated their anniversaries during a jubilee concert held on campus.
MRU Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė congratulated Maskoliūnienė who was also celebrating 30 years at MRU as dance choreographer.
Both "Bolero" and "Skalsa" are led and coordinated by Maskoliūnienė, who has been busy rehearsing and preparing her dance troupes for concerts and performances in Lithuania and abroad since 1992.
"It's a happy, but also a sad celebration because in earlier years we had so many more students involved and participating in extracurricular activities such as dance, ballroom dancing," said Maskoliūnienė. But she said before the pandemic there were also many more students and people on campus.
Maskoliūnienė has prepared the dance groups for concerts abroad and they have performed in India, Mexico, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and other countries.
During the concert, there were performances by current dance members and some alumni dance troupe members.
