Dec. 9th, 2022, during International Human Rights Day, and during an event organized by the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, MRU Vilnius Theatre Director Julius Dautartas was awarded the Silver Medal of Honour for Merit for the film-play, “Ghetto” which he directed. It is based on the diary of Icchok Rudashevski, “My Name is Icchokas.”

The ceremony took place at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. At this event, well-known individuals were honored for their significant contribution and merits in fostering national harmony, promoting cultural diversity and uniting multi-ethnic Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Government’s Chancellor Giedrė Balčytytė, Adviser to the Premier Artur Liukovski, Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Governmental Director Dr. Vida Montvydaitė as well as National Minorities and Émigré Dept. Director Prof. Halina Kobeckaitė participated in the event.
