From November 21 to 25, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) psychology students Vlada Šavliukevič, Mayla Milanovič, Karina Makovska, and Rūta Matiukaitė, along with the Director of the Institute of Psychology, Prof. Dr. Rasa Pilkauskaitė-Valickienė, and Prof. Dr. Aistė Diržytė, participated in the international psychology conference “NextGen in Psychology,” held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

This valuable academic event, organized by New Bulgarian University, MRU, and Paris 8 University, brought together the next generation of psychology researchers from various European countries.

Nearly 30 students from different countries presented their research, engaged in discussions on topics such as research ethics, preparation for doctoral studies, and other key aspects of psychology. MRU students actively participated in the activities and were recognized for their competence and insights.

Particular acclaim was given to MRU undergraduate student Mayla Milanovič, whose research was awarded the prize for the best presentation. This achievement reflects not only her personal talent but also the high standard and international competitiveness of MRU’s psychology studies.

The conference provided the students with an opportunity not only to share their ideas but also to establish valuable connections with colleagues from Bulgaria, France, and Poland. The participants emphasized that the event’s atmosphere fostered academic curiosity and dialogue between students and faculty, while the experience gained motivates them to pursue further scientific endeavors.

“It was incredibly beneficial to hear other students’ work and share our ideas. An event like this provides a unique opportunity to grow not only as a professional but also as an individual,” one participant shared.

In addition to academic activities, the MRU team had the chance to immerse themselves in Bulgarian culture, visit Sofia’s impressive landmarks, taste traditional cuisine, and enjoy the stunning views of the Vitosha Mountains. The setting of New Bulgarian University, nestled between the mountains and the city, created an ideal environment for productive learning and networking.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a high-quality event. It was an invaluable experience that provided new knowledge, motivation, and encouraged the building of international connections,” said students Vlada, Mayla, Karina, and Rūta unanimously.

Participation in this international conference once again highlighted Mykolas Romeris University as a strong international academic community that helps its students achieve outstanding results and make meaningful contributions to the world of science.
