June 16th, 2021, Mykolas Romeris University Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė met with Italy's Ambassador to Lithuania Diego Ungaro to discuss cooperation with Italy's universities and to discuss new partnership and project research perspectives. Italian Cultural Centre Head Vieri Sorace Maresca also attended the meeting.
MRU Law School Vice-Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dovilė Sagatienė and Italian doctoral student Francesca Gennari also attended the meeting.
Currently MRU cooperates with 21 universities in Italy regarding Erasmus+ programme exchanges. Each year 30-40 exchange students from Italy come to study at MRU from partner universities. From 2012 MRU is part of a 9-university consortium implementing a joint European doctoral project "Law, Science and Technology Joint Doctorate: Rights of the Internet of Everything." Doctoral student Gennari is a student in this PhD programme. Italy's University of Bologna is consortium coordinator.
