This month, several Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Librarians turned film stars for a day. They were invited to appear in scenes filmed on location in Vilnius' Užupis area in the film, "Stranger" (Svetimas) directed by Russian director Pavel Chukhray.

The film will premiere in 2017.

"It was my dream to appear in a film," said Librarian Gražina Rozancevaitė, who had a bit part in the Russian film. "I enjoyed it very much," she added.

She plays the mother of a young lad in the film.

Another Librarian, Kristina Vaitonienė, played a well-educated 1951 woman about to be deported to Siberia. She said that she used some of her own shoes and clothing accessories in the film, but others were provided by the Lithuanian Film Studio.

The film, "Stranger" details life in a small Lithuanian town in 1941 just as the Germans enter and occupy it. Max and his mother and younger sister are forced to flee and to move to a Ghetto. Later they are killed, but Max is able to run away.

At night, not knowing where to hide, he returns home to find another family living there.

In turn, Max falls in love with a young girl, Laima.

The themes of love, longing and opposition to what has happened are what the main characters of the film struggle to resolve once the War is over.

The film is directed by Chukhray, who is the son of the famous Russian director Grigory Chukhray. The Film is produced by the Russian Film Studio, "Studija Slon."

"It was a life's adventure for me," said Librarian Vaitonienė. "I enjoyed it very much," she added.

There were several other Librarians that appeared in the film.

The film "stars" received a small sum to compensate them for their time and effort.
