Sept. 25-27th, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Dr. Algirdas Monkevičius led a delegation of Law professors and scholars on a visit to partner university, Ukraine's Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. The delegation included MRU Senate Chairman Prof. Vainius Smalskys, Law School Dean Prof. Lyra Jakulevičienė, Vice-Dean Dovilė Gailiūtė-Janušonė, Law Prof. Toma Birmontienė, Law Prof. Virginijus Bitė and others. During the visit, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Univ Rector Prof. Dr. Vasyl Tatsii was officially presented with his honorary MRU Degree. MRU's Senate in November 2017 approved the awarding of an honorary degree to Rector Vasyl Tatsii, but the official ceremony and presentation of the documents was held only this month in Ukraine. Rector Prof. Tatsii was recognised for his meaningful contribution in creating a modern School of Law, for initiatives helping to contribute to the formation of society's legal consciousness and the fostering of legal principles, for strengthening international university cooperation and for support in helping implement joint studies programmes.
