Recommendations on good democratic governance and the implementation of the principles are presented at a conference held at Vilnius Town Hall

On November 16th, the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and the Council of Europe co-organised an international conference on "Good Democratic Governance and Deliberative Democracy". The international conference was attended by Claudia Luciani, Director of the Council of Europe's Directorate for Human Dignity, Equality and Governance and the Directorate General for Democracy and Human Dignity, experts from the Council of Europe, and representatives of Mykolas Romeris University, Prof. Dr. Andrius Stasiukynas and Dr. Aušra Šukvietienė.

During the conference, the latest recommendations of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the principles of good democratic governance and deliberative democracy were presented, and Prof. Dr. A. Stasiukynas and Dr. A. Šukvietienė presented the opportunities and challenges of the implementation of these recommendations in Lithuania.

Also during the event, 29 out of 39 municipalities that voluntarily participated in the assessment of compliance with the principles of good democratic governance were awarded the Council of Europe Good Democratic Governance (ELoGE) label. The assessment process was monitored and the results approved by the ELoGE National Group, which was set up for this purpose and included representatives of Mykolas Romeris University.
