Minute of Silence Observed for Victims of Paris Terrorist Attacks

Nov. 16th, 2015, members of MRU's academic community, students and staff observed a Minute of Silence for victims of the Paris terrorist attacks that killed more than 130 people.

MRU Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Inga Žalėnienė, Vice Rector for Education Assoc. Prof. Giedrius Viliūnas, MRU Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Saulius Spurga and numerous professors, academics, students, librarians and staff attended the event.

Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Spurga addressed those gathered after a tribute by a violinist. He expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and emphasized that Lithuania has had close ties with France over the years.

MRU's Head of the International Students Bureau Audra Dargytė-Burokienė passed out small stickers to those participating that read, "United We Stand," with flags of Lithuania and France.
