14 June Mykolas Romeris University Rector Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė participated in the European Women Rectors Association's (EWORA) Board Meeting and also attended the EWORA General Assembly in Malmö (Sweden).
EWORA board member Prof. Dr. I. Žalėnienė participated in the discussion organized at the University of Malmö regarding the target areas, strategies and priority activities of this association and presented MRU's activities in the field of gender equality.
The experience of the Nordic countries and recommendations for the implementation of equal opportunities and diversity policy in the academic sphere were also discussed at the General Assembly and the 2023 EWORA financial report and the preliminary budget for 2024 were approved.
It was agreed to hold the next EWORA Board meeting on 27-29 October 2024 at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius.
European Women Rectors Association was established with the aim of the widest and most active involvement of women in the fields of scientific research and higher education. The association strives for gender balance and equality in academic institutions.
