Meeting of Intl Society for Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD) July 10-14th
July 10-14th, 2016, the 24th Biennial Meeting of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD) was held in Vilnius. Academics from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the U.S., and dozens of other countries attended and made presentations. ISSBD, founded in 1969 and now with more than 1000 members in about 60 countries, promotes scientific research on human development throughout the lifespan and application of findings in the world. Since 1971, ISSBD has held 23 biennial meetings on six continents, ten in Europe, six in North America, four in Asia, one in Africa, one in Australia, and one in South America. The most recent meetings were held in Melbourne, Australia (2006), Würzburg, Germany (2008), Lusaka, Zambia (2010), Edmonton, Canada (2012), and Shanghai, China (2014). The current Meeting in Vilnius was the first ISSBD conference in Eastern Europe. MRU Prof. Rita Žukauskienė, ISSBD 2016 Conference Chair, said the meeting is the most important psychology and human behaviour development event in the world. (photos by Gediminas Gražys)
