Lectio Prima at MRU’s Law Faculty
Sept. 1st, 2016, at the start of the new academic year, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law Faculty Dean Prof. Lyra Jakulevičienė addressed freshmen students. Dean Jakulevičienė welcomed freshmen and stressed the importance of universities as places, where knowledge and experience from many years, is handed down. Although in this age of technologies you can find everything on the Internet, it is only by coming into contact with others, that you can learn from others' experience, which is not written down or digitalized, she said. Lithuania's Constitutional Court Chairman VU Prof. Dainius Žalimas reminded students to remember that behind every letter of the law there is a person. Only brave people are free, he told students. MRU Law Faculty lecturers include academics and professors who were involved in forming the Constitution of Lithuania and responsible for creation of the legal system, laws and legal documents.
