From Jan. 20th, 2015, by decree of Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė, MRU Law Faculty graduate and PhD coordinator Andrius Puksas has been appointed to the Lithuanian National Radio & TV (LRT) Council.
In Oct. 2014 he successfully defended his doctoral law dissertation at Mykolas Romeris University. It was titled, "An Appreciable Effect on Competition and Trade Provision. The Problems of Agreements of Minor Importance."
As stipulated in the Law of National Radio and Television, the LRT Council is the highest organ, representing the interests of the public at large.
There are 12 Council members, of which 4 are appointed by President Grybauskaitė and 4 by the Seimas. One member each is appointed from the Lithuanian Research Council, the Lithuanian Education Council, the Lithuanian Artistic Creators' Association and the Conference of Lithuania's Bishops.
