                                                            Feb. 18th-19th, King Sejong Institute (KSI) students celebrated the New Year (Seollal) and made traditional souvenirs. There was an opportunity to learn more about Korean traditions.
Korean Language Lecturer H. Kim discussed Korean Seollal traditions and how to make traditional souvenirs.
Seollal, or Korean Lunar New Year, is a holiday when Koreans gather with family members to play games, exchange gifts and feast on delicious food. It is the most celebrated holiday in South Korea.
Korean Lunar New Year marks the first day of the lunar calendar. It is the first day of the second new moon after winter solstice. The exact day of the new year varies from year to year.
