At the recent meeting of the European Reform University Alliance - ERUA members, the Rector of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, was elected Vice-Chairperson of the ERUA Rectors' Council. Prof. Roman Cieślak, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - SWPS (Poland), was elected President of the Rectors' Council.

The Rectors' Council is the highest decision-making body of the Alliance, responsible for setting the strategic direction and approving key decisions and policies.

MRU joined ERUA as an Associate Partner in October 2022 and officially became a full member in July this year.

"Membership in the Alliance provides even more opportunities for the University's teachers and researchers to participate in international research projects and activities, and for students to join the Alliance's programmes. The reformative partnership of the Alliance members will significantly enrich the university's experience of interdisciplinarity, internationality and sustainability," says Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, MRU Rector, stressing that MRU's contribution to the Alliance is the advanced practice of the social innovation labs.

ERUA is part of the European University Network, a partnership of 50 higher education institutions initiated by the European Commission. In addition to MRU, this international alliance, which is an initiative of European universities and supported by the European Commission, includes seven other universities: University of Paris 8 (France, coordinator of the alliance), SWPS University (Poland), University of Macerata (Italy), University of the Aegean (Greece), University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), European University of Viadrina (Germany), and the University of New-Bulgaria (Bulgaria).
