Oct. 29th, 2021, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) organized a conference, "Sustainable Together: Visions from Korea and Lithuania", which commemorated 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Sustainability is often understood as a meaningful coexistence of different lifestyles, activities and cultures for the future. The future of the Lithuanian and Korean people is a set of common institutions, governments and political decisions of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Korea. Anticipating the future emerges as a model for a new, better - sustainable community lifestyle. Economics, science, culture and politics are increasingly emphasizing sustainability as a precondition for the future. Sustainability in various spheres of existence of states and individuals: socio-economic, geopolitical, cultural-scientific is the topic of this 30th Anniversary Conference of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Korea.

Programme

The Conference was held remotely as well. It was moderated by Mykolas Romeris University King Sejong Institute Vilnius Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lora Tamošiūnienė.

Welcome addresses were delivered by: Chief Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Asta Skaisgirytė - President's Welcome Address; Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Ms. Mira Sun; Head of the Seimas Interparliamentary Group of Relations with the Republic of Korea Andrius Kupčinskas; MRU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Regina Valutytė; and President of the Association of Korean Residents in Lithuania Sunken Kang.

Conference languages: English and Lithuanian.

The event was broadcast live via  Seimas internet page, „YouTube“ and TV programme „Seimas – live“.
