Fulbright Schlolar Edward J. Kelly, an Adjunct Professor at the Appalachian School of Law (ASL), has begun a series of lectures on Mediation and Arbitration at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

Kelly, who is also general counsel for East Tennessee State University (ETSU), is lecturing to students of MRU's Institute of Communication and Mediation.

He is spending 6 months in Vilnius and he will also conduct research and collaborate alternative dispute resolution issues with fellow colleagues in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Kelly said that when asked why he chose to come to Lithuania, answers that it's a great country.

"The simple fact is that Lithuania is a beautiful country with an amazing history, rich tradition and friendly people."

Kelly joined ETSU as University Counsel in 1997. He also serves as an adjunct member of the Faculty at the Appalachian College of Law in Grundy. From 1979-97, he was Assistant to the President at the State University of New York College at Brockport.

The U.S. Fulbright Program operates in more than 155 countries and aims to increase mutual understanding between academics from the U.S. and other countries.
