Nov. 26-30th, 2018, students of the joint Master's programme, "European Joint Master's in Strategic Border Management" were at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) for dissertation preparation and programme review week.
There were 26 high-ranking police and border guard institution representatives from 14 European Union (EU) countries taking part. "Frontex" and "Interpol" organisation representatives were also in attendance.
During the Week, specialists considered issues associated with European border protection.
The studies programme was initiated by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).
The programme aims to prepare up-to-date border guard management-grade specialists who understand the European context. They also have the necessary competencies, such as how to react in a coordinated way to EU exterior border security challenges.
Mykolas Romeris University represents Lithuania in the 6-EU country consortium of universities.
The joint 2-year long Master's programme is divided into 10 modules which include different themes and preparation of the Master's thesis.
