What can one student achieve in two days in Sofia? Quite a lot – especially when representing an entire university in a European alliance. On April 11–12, New Bulgarian University (NBU) in Sofia hosted the ERUA Student Ambassadors Workshop, a dynamic gathering that brought together student ambassadors from across the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA). The event aimed to strengthen the student ambassador program and promote deeper student engagement within the alliance.
Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) was proudly represented by its student ambassador, Yuliana Shuhani, a recent graduate in Public Relations Management. Yuliana actively participated in the workshop sessions, contributing to the creation of new strategies that will guide future generations of ambassadors and enhance collaboration among ERUA member universities.
The workshop served as an engaging platform where ambassadors exchanged experiences and ideas on how to improve inter-university communication and student involvement. Together, they explored how creative communication – especially through video storytelling – could better represent student voices across Europe. They also worked on shaping the upcoming Call for ERUA Student Ambassadors and the Tutorship program, discussing ways to support new ambassadors through mentoring and practical guidance. Reflecting on the experience, Yuliana Shuhani shared: “This workshop showed me how much power students actually have when we’re given the space to contribute. It was inspiring to see how ideas born in one room in Sofia can grow into real initiatives across Europe.”
The event was yet another clear expression of ERUA’s dedication to building a student-centered alliance, where ambassadors are not just representatives – they are connectors, creators, and catalysts for change.
