A delegation from Mykolas Romeris University Law School - Lyra Jakulevičienė, Dean of the Law School, Jolanta Apolewicz, Vice-Dean for International Relations and Studies, and Virginijus Bitė, Director of the Institute of Private Law - visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) (Sakartvelo) on 3-7 June. The cooperation agreement between MRU and BSU has been in force since 2014, so on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of cooperation, the further directions of cooperation development were discussed.

During the visit, the MRU delegation discussed with the Rector of BSU, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences and the administrative units of BSU the possibilities of deepening cooperation in the field of studies and research, including the implementation of double diploma programmes in International Law and European and International Business Law, joint student activities (such as moot courts) and the experience of international student exchanges. A bilateral cooperation agreement in the field of legal research has been signed, which provides for the possibility of forming joint research teams within the framework of the MRU LABs. Unique experiences in the areas of study methods and quality assurance were shared.

The delegation interacted with undergraduate and postgraduate students who are familiar with the MRU Law School from colleagues who are currently studying there or are alumni of the MRU Law School. Ms Salome Karalidze, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at BSU, who is a graduate of the MRU's European Union Law and Governance programme and an MRU ambassador at BSU, shared her experiences of studying in Lithuania. The delegation also discussed cooperation opportunities with two professors holding Jean Monnet Chairs at BSU ("The Fundamental Values of the European Union: Democracy, Rule of Law and Protection of Human Rights" and "Closer to the European Union" in the field of EU competition and consumer law). The delegation members delivered lectures to students on Artificial Intelligence, other new technologies and human rights, new developments in European company law and other topics.
