La Rochelle University student Lauriane Meusnier is completing an internship at Mykolas Romeris University‘s (MRU) Environmental Management Research LAB.
The French student came to MRU on April 19th and is preparing a report on nature-based solutions in Vilnius.
She said she didn‘t know all that much about Lithuania or Vilnius before coming, but had heard that it is quite cold in winter months. “I took a lot of sweatshits with me,“ said the biology student.
“The strange thing is that it‘s not that different here in Lithuania from France. Lithuania, like France, is an old country with lots of historic buildings. In Vilnius there are so many churches,“ she added.
She said what surprises her is how long it takes for broken stairs in a hallway, for example, to get fixed. "It is strange because in France, when something is damaged, it gets fixed. Here it takes longer,“ she added.
Before ending her 2-month internship at the LAB, Lauriane is hoping to see a bit of Vilnius and travel to the castle town of Trakai. This summer, after she leaves Lithuania, she plans to vacation in Vietnam.
“I already have my airline tickets,“ she added. But I still need to travel and see more of Lithuania before I go, she added.
