Mykolas Romeris University, together with Latvia's Turība University, Italy's University of Genoa and Austria's University of Graz has begun to implement the JUSTICE programme's project, "Promoting Cooperation Between Mediators and Attorneys".
The most important goal of the project is to promote cooperation between dispute resolution specialists in order to more effectively ensure the application of Brussels II bis Regulation. Activities of the project will include organising attorney and mediator workshops, where there will be efforts to increase bilateral understanding between specialists and successful resolution of family disputes, which have an international element. This is especially true when the welfare of children must be safeguarded.
Project partner experts will also unite their efforts for preparing learning materials and good practices for preparing future leaders. Mediation films, as well as video lectures will be translated into Lithuanian, Latvian, German and Italian languages. There will be workshops, as well as seminars, discussions and conferences organised for specialists.
Up to April 27th, 2020, there will be mediator and attorney questionnaires distributed to determine what type of skills and knowledge Lithuania's mediators and attorneys need the most.
