June 13-14th, 2023, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) athletes won three medals at Lithuania's Student Track and Athlete Championships held in Kaunas at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium.
MRU Public Security Academy graduate Andra Tamašauskaitė in the running competition won 1st and 3rd places. In the 800 m race, Tamašauskaitė won a gold medal completing the distance in 2 min. and 10,94 seconds, which is her personal best. In the 1,500 m race, she completed the distance in 4 min. 44,79 seconds and won a bronze medal.
"In January the trauma that I had earlier acted up and this caused a lot of problems. However, it did not stop me. Due to careful planning for this championship, I was able to achieve my personal best, which is great," said the smiling MRU Public Security graduate.
Another student, Public Security Academy student Eivilė Cemnolonskytė won a silver medal having jumped 5,99 m and was only bested by Lithuania's women's champion Diana Zagainova.
