August 6th, 2021, MRU alum and champion Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė won a silver medal in the modern pentathlon event at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.

Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė came in second in the competition that involves fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping and a combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running.

In 2011 Asadauskaitė graduated with a MRU Master's Degree in EU Policy and Administration.
