State Restoration Day

February 16 is a special day for Lithuanians. Before the end of the First World War on this day 20 members of the Council of Lithuania signed the act of independence. This act declared that Lithuania was "restoring the independent, democratically organized state of Lithuania". We are grateful to our ancestors that we are free today, that we can live in a democracy.
