MRU Library received a valuable gift: newly reprinted copies of the first Lithuanian-language periodical "Aušra" (1883-1886).
The first Lithuanian newspaper “Aušra” was republished on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and with the support of the benefactor Pranas Kiznis.
"Aušra" is the first national Lithuanian newspaper that was published between 1883-1886. The most important mission of "Aušra" was to mobilise Lithuanians and raise national consciousness.
