Project No S-ST-23-18
Project title: “Liberalisation of Share Class Regulation and its Impact on the Investment Environment for Lithuanian Startups”
Project duration: from 03-10-2023 to 30-04-2024
Project leader: Prof. Dr. Virginijus Bitė
Student: Artur Dubickij
About the project. In order to achieve the objective of the study, in addition to the usual data collection and data analysis methods, which will be used to analyse the share class regulation in Lithuania and selected jurisdictions and the resulting problems and challenges, empirical data collection methods (e.g., questionnaire survey, expert interviews, etc.) will also be used to determine the opinion of Lithuanian startups and investor associations on the amendments and the possible need for further amendments. The survey will be conducted in several stages. First, the share class regulations in Lithuania and selected jurisdictions will be analysed. Second, surveys and expert interviews will be conducted with representatives of the Lithuanian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, the Unicorns LT Association, the Innovation Agency and other interested organisations. Thirdly, the main challenges and problems arising from the existing share class regulation in Lithuania will be identified and assessed. Fourthly, the research data will be compiled into an article for publication in a collection of MRU students’ research papers or a scientific journal.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Research Council under the Student Research Semesters programme.
