Nov. 25th-27th, 2023, the International Association of Universities (IAU) will holds its 2023 International Conference, "Higher Education with Impact: the Importance of Intercultural Learning and Dialogue" at Qatar University in Doha.

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė will chair and moderate a session on November 27th, "Moving Beyond Mobility - Broadening the Scope of Internationalization." MRU Rector Prof. Žalėnienė is a Vice-President of the IAU.

The Conference will discuss how higher education can foster cooperation, understanding and appreciation of diversity at local and global levels with the aim of generating knowledge and new approaches to issues of global and local relevance.

Universities have a key role to play in establishing a sense of interconnectedness, in building intercultural competencies, and in nurturing intercultural understanding and collaboration through teaching and learning. This will contribute to building global citizenship and social responsibility within and beyond national boundaries.

The IAU 2023 International Conference will explore how universities promote and support intercultural learning and dialogue and the broader implications this has for society.
