March 11th is an extraordinary day for Lithuanians. It commemorates the day that Lithuania's Restoration of Independence Act was signed. To mark this day, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) invites the academic community to participate in events marking the holiday.
On March 7th, 16.00 in I-201 aud., there will be a concert with pianist Darius Mažintas performing and accompanying singer Jonas Sakalauskas to mark this extraordinary day.
In 1990, when Lithuania's Independence was restored, Mykolas Romeris University also opened its first page of history. About a month after restoration of independence was announced, an institution of higher education was established. Later, in 2004 the name of Mykolas Romeris University was awarded to this institution of higher education.
MRU grew and developed together with the new independent country. First of all, specialists were trained at the University which were in short supply in the new country. MRU fostered specialists in the area of Law, Public Management, Public security and they contributed significantly to laying the foundations of the state.
