Project title: „Developments in tort law in Lithuania – 2020”.

Summary: The aim of the project is to develop the ability of the student selected for the project to analyse the jurisprudence of the Republic of Lithuania, legislative initiatives in the formulation of tort law policy in the legal system of the Republic of Lithuania, to systematize the collected information and to summarize it in the form of a reasoned legal assessment. The project also aims to develop the student’s ability to professionally communicate court decisions to both the professional legal community and the public at large.
Result to be achieved: in the course of the project, the student will use the Infolex database from the beginning of the project to 15 January 2021 to collect and analyse the case law of the Republic of Lithuania in 2020, the newly enacted and amended legislation, and will separately discuss the more interesting jurisprudence of the courts of the Republic of Lithuania on the issue of compensation to persons for damages to life and health and discuss the new research works on the issues of tort law. She will report on her activities on her LinkedIn account and on the Facebook page of the Tort Law portal.
From 15 January 2021 to 31 March 2021, the student will analyse in more detail her chosen 2020 topic in tort law, familiarise herself with the legal issues, research, studies, case law and evaluate it from a comparative perspective. On the basis of this research, the student will prepare an oral presentation at a student conference organised by LMT.
On 30 April 2021, the student will then present a research report describing the plafroms and the activities carried out, the plafroms and the results achieved, the methodology of the research, a discussion of the research results, the conclusions and a list of the references.
