The aim of the project: To develop a model for assessing the links between corruption and the shadow economy and its performance in the context of Southern European countries.

Project objectives:

  1. To analyse the theoretical aspects of the links between corruption and the shadow economy.
  2. To identify the methodologies, strengths and limitations of the methodologies for assessing the interrelationship between corruption and the informal economy.
  3. To develop a model for assessing the interrelationships between the levels of corruption and the informal economy.
  4. To develop a methodology for assessing the interlinkages between levels of corruption and the informal economy in Southern European countries.
  5. To empirically assess the correlation between levels of corruption and the shadow economy in Southern European countries.
