Object: Improve student achievement, reduce social exclusion and increase the inclusion of students with special educational needs by ensuring equitable access to quality digital content and educational innovations, and ensuring the continuous development of STEAM.
Project results:
536 selected teachers from 56 municipalities studied in study programmes with additional subject competences and acquired (priority STEAM) competences in a new subject for teachers. In STEAM (Integral Skills Development in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, which focuses on the complex understanding, application and problem-solving of real-world phenomena), 498 teachers from 53 municipalities took part in STEAM studies:
– 31 persons participated in the social pedagogy studies at Mykolas Romeris University;
– 82 persons in the studies of school, pre-school and primary education at Vilnius College;
– 277 persons in the studies of school, pre-school, primary education, speech therapy, special education, natural sciences, exact sciences, technology, art education, informatics at Vytautas Magnus University;
– 146 persons in the studies of school, pre-school, primary education, integrated natural sciences, natural sciences, language education held at Vilnius University.
204 persons with no teaching qualifications and graduates in other fields of study were selected: teachers, school heads and deputy heads studied in professional pedagogy and obtained teaching qualifications:
– Kaunas University of Technology – 20 persons;
– Mykolas Romeris University – 31 persons;
– Vytautas Magnus University – 114 persons;
– Vilnius University – 39 persons.
20 of the selected teachers, heads and deputy heads of schools graduated from Mykolas Romeris University with a Master’s degree in Educational Technology Management.
It is hoped that the Project’s funding will reduce the shortage of teaching staff in Lithuanian schools and disseminate new ideas in education.
