Summary: The COVID-19 crisis and the unplanned shift to online content have given an unprecedented boost to digital teaching and learning practices. However, it has also exposed a gap in the use of digital technologies to fully support quality and inclusive education. It has also negatively impacted on the activities planned under Erasmus+, and the aim of DIAL4U is to facilitate the evolution of online learning/teaching in the core Erasmus-supported discipline of foreign languages.
The project aims to co-develop innovative approaches and digital tools to: facilitate mediation in all aspects of the language learning process (in formal and informal contexts); develop the linguistic competence and autonomy of all language learners; develop or improve the competences of language teachers in the digital and blended pedagogy field; and facilitate recognition and validation of knowledge, skills and competences.
The DIAL4U project will contribute to the introduction of digital technologies and open pedagogy in language teaching and learning. This will be achieved by motivating and recognising the skills of students and teachers, including the use of open educational resources. The results obtained will be transferable, easily shared and verifiable at a distance, as they will be stored in Europass and EBSI (European Blockchain Service Infrastructure).
