On March 12–14, 2025, Professor Dr. Jolanta Bieliauskaitė, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Mykolas Romeris University and institutional lead for the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), took part in the ERUA Coordination Committee meeting held in Brussels, Belgium.

The meeting focused on key governance aspects of the alliance: implementation of new guidelines, reporting structures, activity planning, and coordination among partners. Particular attention was given to the mobility strategy – including a review of the current student and staff mobility situation, identified barriers, and proposals for sustainable inter-institutional exchange. Discussions also covered expected deliverables for April 2025 and outlined the next steps in ERUA’s development.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Bieliauskaitė also met with Rasa Pečiukonienė, Education and Sport Attaché, and Dr. Brigita Serafinavičiūtė, Science Attaché, at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union. The meeting addressed EU policy developments relevant to university alliances and explored opportunities for strengthening collaboration with Lithuanian institutions.

“International partnerships within the ERUA alliance and continuous dialogue with EU institutions are key to enhancing our university’s competitiveness and ensuring its strategic integration into the European Higher Education Area. These meetings help us not only better understand EU policy directions, but also contribute to shaping sustainable cooperation initiatives,” said Prof. Dr. Jolanta Bieliauskaitė.
