On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence, we have selected 35 Lithuanian writers who have published their works in a free Lithuania. This new historical stage opened new horizons, offered unprecedented plots and new literary styles. Some of their works were attempts to introduce new genres and present Lithuanian history at the level of popular literature.
Today, we invite you to enjoy the abundance of free speech creativity. In the library’s exhibition space near the Longish Reading Room, you will find books by 35 Lithuanian authors. Among them, you are sure to discover true gems of Lithuanian thought. For this exhibition, we have selected books that we have read and loved ourselves. If you have a favourite book by a contemporary Lithuanian author, donate it to the library. We will gladly accept them, read them and share them with the university community.
