Call for proposals “Freedom of Research: Challenges and Perspectives on Academic Production Today”
ERUA

We are pleased to invite you to the Second Meeting of International Researchers at Université Paris 8, to be held the 6 and 7 May, 2025. This event offers a unique opportunity to present your work, engage in discussions with peers, and interact with the academic and administrative support services of the university.

Organised as a scientific symposium, this event is open to all international researchers from Université Paris 8 and the ERUA Alliance. It aims to promote an interdisciplinary dialogue around a common theme.

This year's theme is "Freedom of Research: Issues, Challenges and Perspectives of Academic Creation Today".

This theme will be explored through four main axes:

  • Legal Axis: Principles and challenges of research freedom, the state of freedom of expression in various contexts and territories and/or the relationship between law and research.
  • Migration Axis: Academic migration, exile, international mobility, and their impact on knowledge production.
  • Democratic Axis: Links between democracy, freedom of research and expression; analyses of geopolitical situations and their effects on academic institutions.
  • Artistic Axis: Intersections between artistic production, freedom of expression, and international mobility.

Call for proposals:

  • Presentations may be delivered in French or English and should not exceed 20 minutes each.
  • Interested participants are invited to submit an abstract of approximately 300 words to the following address: juan-pablo.yanez@univ-paris8.fr.
  • The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 March 2025, midnight.
  • The results of the selection will be communicated to the authors on 7 April 2025.
  • If you're an ERUA researcher and would like to attend, please contact your local ERUA mobility agent at your university and the Paris 8 EURA referent for this event: iffet-piraye.yuce@univ-paris8.fr
