The international university ranking agency, QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, has announced the latest global assessments of sustainability performance among higher education institutions. This year, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) secured third place among six Lithuanian universities, reaffirming its leadership in sustainability and achieving significant results.

MRU stood out particularly in the Environmental Research category, where its score improved from 67.6 to 69.7 points, and in the Governance category, where evaluations rose from 72 to 80.3 points for the second consecutive year. In the Health and Wellbeing category, MRU ranked first in Lithuania with a score of 74.9. Although its overall international ranking position fell from 637th to 723rd, this shift is attributed to an increase in the number of evaluated institutions, which rose to 1,744 this year from 1,394 last year. These achievements highlight MRU's consistent focus on promoting sustainability and advancing science in alignment with global sustainable development goals.

This year, MRU also received prestigious international recognition by being awarded the FISU Healthy Campus Certified Label by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). This accolade highlights the university's success in fostering a healthy, active, and sustainable community life. MRU is the only university in Lithuania to have received this certification, which acknowledges the integration of physical activity, mental and social health, nutrition, disease prevention, and sustainability principles into its daily operations.

Globally, only 150 universities across 42 countries have earned the FISU Healthy Campus certification. MRU has become a noteworthy example of how a university can strive for academic excellence while contributing to the holistic well-being of its community.

Mykolas Romeris University remains committed to leadership in sustainability and health, advancing sustainable development goals globally while fostering a healthy academic environment for its community.
