MRU Strengthens Ties with the Indo-Pacific Region: New Partnership with a Japanese University

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) is strengthening its collaboration with international partners to provide even more opportunities for students and faculty to engage in global academic initiatives.

To this end, a cooperation agreement has been signed with the International Pacific University (IPU) in Japan, part of the prestigious Soshi Education Group.

The agreement covers various areas of collaboration, including student exchanges, academic visits by faculty, development of dual-degree programs, and organization of summer and winter schools.

The universities have also agreed to cooperate in doctoral research, exchange scientific information and publications, organize joint research projects and conferences, and seek funding opportunities. This marks another step in expanding the university's international activities and ensuring its community’s involvement in global projects.

This partnership is just one of several new initiatives launched this academic year. During the Asian University Presidents Forum in Busan, South Korea, MRU Rector Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė signed cooperation agreements with Busan Digital University in South Korea, Kansai University of International Studies in Japan, Macau University of Science and Technology, and the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT-AP University, VIT Bhopal University) in India.

Additionally, MRU initiated collaboration with the Asian Universities Alliance, signing a multilateral memorandum to promote joint academic work in the region.

MRU also entered into agreements with the Balongan Institute of Petroleum Technology (Institut Teknologi Petroleum Balongan) and the Institute of Health Sciences Bhakti Wiyata Kediri in Indonesia, as well as Green International University and the University of Faisalabad in Pakistan. In the Indo-Pacific region, MRU collaborates with 58 universities.

“International cooperation opens many new opportunities to create added value for the academic and scientific community, foster intercultural dialogue, conduct joint research projects with foreign partners, and share experience and innovations. Through these efforts, we aim to better prepare students for professional careers in the global market, where the Indo-Pacific region plays a significant role,” says MRU Rector Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė.
