Project No. VS-15
Project title: „CLARIN ERIC (“Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure”)”.
Project duration: from 2024-09-01 to 2029-05-30
Project manager: Prof. dr. Sigita Rackevičienė
Project partners: Vytautas Magnus University (coordinator), Vilnius University.

Summary: In 2024–2029, the members of the CLARIN-LT consortium, including VDU (coordinator), VU, and MRU, are implementing a project aimed at representing Lithuania in the international infrastructure CLARIN ERIC (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure) and carrying out activities for the development of this infrastructure.

Membership in the CLARIN ERIC infrastructure is important for Lithuania from international, economic, social, scientific, and technological perspectives. The CLARIN-LT centre provides all Lithuanian research and study institutions access to stored digital resources and technologies in various languages, promotes Lithuanian research to international audiences, and ensures the integration of Lithuanian resources into a pan-European platform.

The most important activities of the project:

  1. Maintenance and development of the CLARIN-LT repository for European inter-network connections (metadata management, authentication support);
  2. Administration and development of the CLARIN-LT Consortium website;
  3. CLARIN-LT data storage administration and service portal support;
  4. Curation of the Knowledge Centre: providing consultation services on development of Lithuanian language technologies and their application;
  5. Participation in CLARIN ERIC National Coordinator Forum and Committee meetings;
  6. Participation and reporting at the annual CLARIN ERIC General Assembly;
  7. Organization of user involvement events and dissemination of information;
  8. Organization of the annual CLARIN-LT seminars to present the consortium activities;
  9. Participation in relevant scientific seminars or conferences;
  10. Publication of scientific articles;
  11. Organization of the certification process for the CLARIN-LT B-type centre and data repository;
  12. Management of open data in compliance with FAIR and GDPR principles, promotion of FAIR principles, open science, and open data.

The project is funded by the Lithuanian Research Council.
