The European University ERUA would like to express its solidarity with Spain, whose region of Valencia has been particularly hard hit by devastating storms and flooding. Although Las Palmas has not been directly affected, we know that the families and loved ones of their colleagues and students may have been affected, and that today entire country is in mourning.

This tragedy, caused by unpredictable and intense weather, is a stark strong reminder of the vulnerability of our societies to climate disruption and the urgent need to take action in the face of these increasingly frequent events.

Our alliance was founded on a vision of Europe rooted in mutual support and shared responsibility. Today, we offer you, our Spanish friends, our deepest sympathy. For tomorrow, let us join together to act and face these challenges as one community.
